How to Pineapple Guide

Everyone's favorite summer snack are diced pineapples. They are healthy, sweet, juicy, and they are plain beautiful. Forget buying them pre-packaged with preservatives; buy the fruit itself for guaranteed freshness. We understand that pineapples look daunting to tackle due to their odd shape and prickly exterior, but after you read this guide, pineapples will be a staple at all of your summer gatherings.

Tips for Picking a Pineapple

  1. Color check (fresh and fully ripe pineapples should have bright and healthy leaves, along with a greenish-yellow exterior)

  2. Squeeze it (ripe pineapple should have a firm shell, but it will be slightly softer when squeezed)

  3. Smell it (ripe pineapples tend to have a sweet smell at the bottom, right near the base of the fruit)

  4. Weigh it (heavier pineapples are more often juicier, sweeter, and more ripe)

  5. Pull it (gently tug at the fronds ‘large leaves’ to see if they’re easy to pull as this will indicate that your pineapple is ripe and ready)
