Carne Asada Street Tacos Recipe
This amazingly delicious and easy recipe is perfect for picky eaters because the tacos can be garnished however they want. The simple tortilla and savory steak provides a strong foundation to build on. You can serve this just for your family, but it easily scales for serving large groups as well!
Prep time: 60 minutes
Cook time: 15 minutes
Spicy: ●●◦◦◦ When you add Desvelados Hot Sauce
2 tbsp soy sauce (you can substitute with Liquid Aminos)
1/2 tbsp salt
2 tbsp canola oil
3 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp chili powder
1 tsp ground cumin
1 tsp dried oregano
1.5 lbs skirt steak
12 mini flour tortillas
1 medium red onion
1 bunch of fresh cilantro
1 bottle of Desvelados Hot Sauce
Let's begin the adventure:
Combine soy sauce, salt, juice from 1 lime, 1 tbsp canola oil, garlic, chili powder, cumin, and oregano in a medium bowl.
Dice the red onions, chop the cilantro, and slice the remaining limes into wedges.
Cut the skirt steak into 1/2-inch pieces.
Marinate the steak pieces with the soy sauce mixture for 1 to 4 hours in a bowl or bag, occasionally stirring the bowl or flipping the bag.
After marination, heat 1 tbsp canola oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak with the marinade, and cook, stirring often, until desired doneness (about 5 minutes).
Warm the mini tortillas.
Serve steak on tortillas with the onion, cilantro, and lime.
Squeeze Desvelados Hot Sauce over the tacos, and enjoy your adventure!
